For each of the following 9 movements complete 11 reps:
11 Box Jumps (30/24)
11 Thrusters (125/85) – represents the number of deaths occurred at the Pentagon
11 Burpee Chest to Bar Pullups
11 Power Cleans (175/120) – symbolizes American Airlines Flight 175 that hit the south tower
11 KB swings (2/1.5)
11 Deadlifts (170/120) *please use Power Clean weight – symbolic of Flight 77 and Flight 93 combined
11 Push Jerks (110/75) – * please use Thruster weight represents the number of floors in each tower of the WTC
*Note: to facilitate loading of weights for this WOD and it’s movements, we’ve adjusted the weights to use Thruster weight for Push Jerks and same Clean weight for Deadlifts. Original weights have been left posted to reflect intended meaning.
It’s crazy to think 17 years have passed already. But please take some time to reflect today on those who were lost on this day, and to honor the brave men and women who both risked and sacrificed their lives to save others.
Remember when we as a country came together – arm in arm – to comfort one another, to support each other and to bolster spirits and morale in the wake of this horrible tragedy.
