Swim instruction offered by a Crossfitting colleague – Kate Davis Swimming is an inclusive sport, insuring success at any level. Swimming is a sport where injury is rare – as a matter of fact, swimming is often prescribed to help heal from injury. Kate was raised in Southwest Michigan, on the banks of Lake Michigan. Kate swam competitively from the ages of 5 to 20. She finished her competitive career with a Division II university, in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Kate moved to Chapel Hill, NC in 1997 and to Charlotte in 2004. In Chapel Hill, Kate taught lessons and coached swimming for the NC Special Olympics. In Charlotte, Kate has enjoyed teaching organized and private lessons with the YMCA and YWCA of Greater Charlotte. Kate is a graduate of DePaul University, Chicago, IL. Kate continues to swim recreationally and enjoys participating in area triathlons, duathlons and the Dammed Catawba River Challenge. She has completed five marathons. Of all the fitness activities she’s been involved with Ultimate CrossFit has kicked her butt and she’s hooked. Kate’s area of interest lies in stroke development and technique.
